Roca De Cangrejo means Crab Rock, or Rock of the Crab, probably; and I thought of it when I was recently in a place called Pasito Blanco and walking to Meloneras, just outside Maspalomas on the south coast of Gran Canaria. It's a very rocky walk with the sea crashing in from your right, and you come to a part where the path splits in two. To the left you can scale up an almost sheer cliff with dull footholes and to the right you can pass through two large dividing stones, but only at low tide. When you pass through the stones you discover on the other side of the rockface scores of what I believe are called Grapsus Adscensionis. Beautiful black, leathery, greeny, sometimes red crabs, as big as a bottle of Crown Royale, scuttling about the rockface in their droves, away from the crashing waves, and the midday sun. I felt like I had experienced the sublime and wanted to homage these crabs in this way. I nicknamed this area Crab Rock and returned a few times to video and photograph the crabs. Soon after I decided I would name this EP after it.

As a retrospective EP this song contains 3 already released songs plus brand new track 'Shady Palms' which acts as the "roll credits" ending music

The album art is an edited photograph of me a few yards away from the Roca De Cangrejo at sunset on Christmas day. It also features the line art illustration of a crab from the Ocean Eyes album art which is the 3rd track on the EP.
